Notes

Hank is a striking 17HH, 11 year old warmblood gelding. He is level headed, and very willing. Good for vet and farrier, clips, loads, stands tied, and is UTD on vaccines, worming, farrier, and dental work. No injuries and has never had any colic issues. He does have equine PPID that is well controlled with Pergolide and diet. Recent lab work shows his cortisol level is within normal range.
Hank was purchased from October Hill Farm as a weanling with the intention of showing him in the upper level jumpers/Grand Prix ring eventually. However, his owner had some life changes and lost interest in the sport after a few years. Therefore, Hank has had limited show experience. If he had been shown much, his price would be $100k higher than what it is now. He spent this summer showing in the 1 meter jumpers. He is a good prospect for someone with big ambitions and a modest budget. He is well trained, honest to the fences, has a lead change, and loves to jump. Hank has all the talent and scope in the world and a good brain. His potential is limitless and he is a very nice horse to be around. He is more of a jumper type but could probably make it in all 3 rings. Would also make an exceptional eventer. He has been trail ridden extensively and loves to fox hunt.

His sire is the great Mezcalero, an Olympic contender and international GP competitor. Mezcalero is known for producing superb athletes with trainable minds. His dam’s sire is a WEG competitor (Coconout Grove). His full brother (Montaro OHF) is an approved breeding stallion and was successful in both the hunter derbies and upper level jumpers.

Hank has been ridden by kids and amateurs. However, he is a super athlete and can occasionally be playful and buck. He needs a rider that is somewhat confident. He is NOT mean. Videos are of his very first horse show experiences with a very novice rider in the tack. These are the only videos I have available. Do not ask for more. PPE is welcome at buyers expense. He recently passed PPE for a potential buyer without any problems. Recent x-rays of his feet are available upon request.
You are welcome to come and try him but you may not ship him a long distance to do so. Hank loves/needs daily turnout. Please do not inquire if you don’t have turnout. He is priced at about half his actual value for quick uncomplicated sale.
