After three years in our family, Icarus is ready to take his next jr/am rider up the ranks in the jumper and/or equitation ring! This 16.3hh gelding out of Arezzo VDL was imported into our barn in 2020 and has since taken two of our junior riders from the 0.9m to the 1.20m jumpers with countless placings at RMSJ, T-Bird, and DIHP. Icarus has also shown to be more than competent in the Equitation ring, with top placings in both the CET and Eclipse Equestrian Medal divisions in 2021 under a junior rider.
Icarus is a barn favourite with his easygoing and gentle nature. He confidently bathes, hacks out, stands for the farrier, trailers, ties, you name it, he does it.
Icarus is very well schooled on the flat, having all the buttons readily available for any rider's every need. His counter canter is spot on, changes can be automatic or strategic in accordance with the rider's desire, half pass and leg yield at walk, trot, and canter are never an issue, not to mention he has the ability to turn on a dime when asked.
With a big stride and a strong willingness to please, Icarus is the perfect confidence builder for a jr/am rider looking to move up and gain competence with a steady partner.
