A true black beauty, this attractive mare captures everyone’s attention with her striking good looks. Structurally correct, Jett, as she is known around the barn, possesses a well-set neck and good shoulder and demonstrates a nice, loose trot and canter. Although bred for the dressage ring, Jett exhibits a very nice jump. Taking after both her dam and grand dam, Deep C’s Calypso is a very affectionate and amicable horse.
Jett’s dam, High C’s Calypso is half sister to the acclaimed mare family of SPS Carina. SPS Red Chili by Rotspon, SPS Faconnable by Fürst Heinrich and SPS Red Hot Chili by Rotspon, all bred and exhibited by Hannes Brüning, were awarded the highly sought-after Herwart von der Decken-Prize for the best mare family in both 2007 and 2009!
Sire, Dauphin, best known for his sweet nature, was stationed at the Landgestuet State Stud before being stationed in Canada. While in Germany, this Donnerhall son was the go-to stallion when they welcomed visitors. Through the years, Dauphin has been known as an outstanding producer of quality offspring who demonstrate good character, rideability, willingness, correctness, and movements.
Truly amateur friendly, this mare has been a pleasure to handle since day one. Being a ‘quick study’ and smart, Deep C’s Calypso figures new things out without much fuss. Possessing three good gaits and good rideability, this mare will shine with her new rider. Just started over fences, and now jumping a small hunter course, this mare will make a lovely amateur or junior's mount.
